Rising of the Voices: PROTESTATION

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.

A few days ago, I watched 7’s Sunrise in being interested about hearing about Bush coming around to Aussie shores and the whole APEC protest debacle and something to do with the Supreme Court; most students skipped the school for the rally/protest about Bush not being welcome and how he was having Howard’s support in the current Iraq War (if you could call it a war, that is). Well, I sure wouldn’t welcome Bush, because:

1) He said, Oz should go nuclear, which I have ranted on about before.

2) The words he used during his speech was allegedly aggressive.

3) He doesn’t realize that most people are aware of this “war” as just a complicated event that’s gone from good to worse.

4) The Court has put a little regulation saying the Rally-ers not protest is a violation of the human right of free speech.

A friend of mine from work said that the whole war was no longer about The War on Terror, since America has wanted the Middle East’s oil supply for donkey’s ages, since the US of A is well, an oil guzzling nation. What with all those SUV’s hanging around around, and plus Bush might as well be rich and powerful enough to have his own collection of vintage cars somewhere on his property. I say we don’t have to agree on this bullshit no longer. I remembered that Sunrise did a rather lethal Freudian slip by saying that the poor students with the guts to protest were incorrect about the whole business. Too bad; I agree with them. The media to me here seem to be the mere spineless puppets of Government who will side with them no matter what. Guess it’s up to people power like protests and blogging now.
